Last month we visited a fun art museum in Chiang Mai, called Art in Paradise. We decided to go because our son, Ethan, loves to draw, so we thought he’d enjoy it. It turns out we all had a great time.

The museum is filled with 130 interactive 3D murals that were created by Jang Kyu Suk and 12 South Korean artists. Everything (including the frames themselves) is an optical illusion, designed to appear three dimensional. It was unexpectedly entertaining and made for tons of great photo ops.

The museum is great for silliness and play. Visitors are encouraged to get interactive by posing against or on the paintings. Don’t be shy and have fun.

Art in Paradise are divided into 8 zones as following:

• Dinosaur Zone
• Surrealism Zone
• Classic Art Zone
• Lanna Zone
• Thai Zone
• Egyptian Zone

Getting there: South of both the night bazaar and Pantip Plaza on Chang Klang Road between the Shangri La and Empress Hotels. The building it is in, Sea Suan Plaza Building, used to be a shopping mall and there is a Tourism of Thailand office almost opposite.
Hours: Daily from 9 am – 9 pm. Ticket office close at 8 pm.
Price: 300 baht adult/200 baht child for foreigners.
